  • Do you ship from the USA or from Japan? 

    We ship all our coffee from Sapporo, Japan, directly from the coffee roasting facility.

    We ship our popular products within the USA with free shipping from our sister company, Japanese Green Tea Co.  Please see the list here
  • How do you ship coffee?

    Our freshly roasted coffee is shipped directly from Japan to you. Orders are shipped with tracking from Japan by regular small packet airmail via EMS (Express Mail Service) provided by Japan Post. Most orders arrive within 10 days under normal conditions. EMS service is highly efficient, and we rarely have problems with them.

  • How much do you charge for shipping?

    We use Japan Post EMS, and the following are the rates for shipping.

    The shipping price is a flat rate per order. In addition, all shipping comes with free insurance through Japan Post EMS.

    Orders of less than $60 will be billed at a flat rate of $20 for shipping and handling.

  • What is the shipping charge on a subscription order?

    Whichever shipping method you choose on the first order will be retained for all future orders. If you choose free shipping today, it will lock in the free shipping for all the time until you unsubscribe.

    • Do you ship anywhere in the USA?

      Yes. We ship anywhere in the USA, including Hawaii and Alaska.

      • Do you ship to Hawaii and Alaska?

        Yes, we ship to Hawaii and Alaska at no extra charge.   

      • Do you ship to Canada?

        Yes. We ship anywhere in Canada.

        • Do you ship internationally outside USA?

          Yes, we ship worldwide.

          • Can I send the package as a gift to someone?

            Yes, you can specify the shipping address separately from the billing address so that you can send it to your friends easily. We do not include the receipt in shipment in general unless required by the country’s custom. 

          • Do you allow shipping to PO Box?  

            Yes, we do allow PO Box. The local post office delivers the package shipped via Japan Post, and they have access to your PO Box.  
          • Does your shipment require a signature? 

            For the customer in the USA, you are not required to sign. However, some countries may require you to sign upon receiving.

          • How soon do you provide the tracking number? 

            We ship items Mon-Fri 11 am Japan Time. When the item is ordered after 11 am, we send it the next day. So you get the tracking before 11 am on the day (if ordered before 11 am).
          • Why is your shipping fee so low?

          • How long does it take to get my coffee after ordering?

            We ship the same day!
            Orders placed by 10 AM JT will be shipped from our warehouse daily Monday-Friday after payment is verified. Order placed after 10 AM JT will be shipped the next day.
            With processing, you receive your order in 5-10 days.
          • How do you pack your coffee? 

            Each coffee is sealed with a one-way valve pack to retain the quality.

            Sealed packaged coffee is shipped in a soft-packed envelope or box depends on the size of the order.

          • Do I need to pay for sales tax/import tax? 

            Coffee is not subject to sales/consumption tax in the US. The carrier's sales/consumption tax on shipments outside the US will be collected by the carrier, dependent upon the local tax authority regulations and the buyer's responsibility. If coffee is taxed in your part of the world (Europe, for example), the carrier will collect this tax from you, the buyer.
            • What payment method do you accept?

              We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diner’s Club. We also accept PayPal, Amazon payment, Google G-Pay, Apple Pay, Venmo and Shopify Pay. 


            • How secure is your shopping cart?

              Shopify Inc. provides our shopping cart with maximum security features, including Level 1 PCI CSS Compliant Secure Provider, Visa's Global Compliant Provider List, and Master Card's SDP List. 
            • Do I need to create an account order form you?

              No. You can check out as a guest by providing your name and shipping address. You are not required to create an account to order.  
            • Does your website keep track of my account so I know how to repeat my order?

              If you enter an email address when you order, the order information is tracked with your email address.

              At any time, you can register on our site with the same email address you used when ordering at
              https://www.japaneseCoffeeCo.com/account/register. 
              This will allow you to see the past ordered products to purchase the same item easily.

              • How to add discount code? I cannot find where to add discount code.

                You can enter your coupon code on the checkout page.

              • Are there late fees?

              No, there are no late fees if you miss a scheduled payment.

              • What is the option to pay in installments?

              When checking out with Shop Pay, you now have the option to pay now or later. Paying in installments on Shop Pay allows you to split your purchase amount into 4 equal, biweekly installment payments—with 0% interest, no hidden or late fees, and no impact on your credit score.* In some instances, your first payment is due when you make your purchase; otherwise, your first payment is due 2 weeks after your purchase

              • What if I make a return on a purchase made through Installments?

              If your refund amount is less than the amount remaining on your Shop Pay Installments balance, then you can expect one or both of the following:

              - A smaller payment balance on the final payment.

              - Less future payments on the remaining loan balance.

               

              If your refund amount is more than the amount remaining on your Shop Pay Installments balance, then you can expect to receive the difference as a refund to your original debit card or credit card payment method within 3 to 10 business days.

              • Which payment methods are accepted if I use the option to pay Installments on Shop Pay?

                • How does my subscription work?


                  If you are a new customer, your first shipment consists of the coffee you choose to order. 
                  After that, you'll receive deliveries of the same coffee every 15, 30, or 60 days depends on the cycle you choose.
                  Your credit card will be charged each time your coffee is shipped, and you can cancel at any time.

                You can select a 60 days option. After you set up your automated subscription, you may change how frequently you receive shipments.

              • Is the subscription price I see only for the first order?

                No. The price you see on the site is for the first order and the subscription's subsequent order. Therefore, the price will not change as long as you are subscribed.

              • When will my first paid order be shipped?

                Your first paid order will be shipped immediately after you order. We ship the same day.
                Orders placed by 11am JT will be shipped from Japan daily Monday-Friday, after payment is verified.
                Our coffee is shipped from Japan. You receive your package between 5-10 days.

              • What happens if I want to try different coffee? May I change my subscription? How?

                You can change your coffee anytime without any fee for the next cycle.

              • How can I specify the day of shipment or which day to ship for the subscription?

                Your subscription will be automatically shipped based on the date of your first order.

                          • Can I order sample coffee?

                            Yes! Each product offering a sample allows you to select a size.  Simply select sample under the size option and checkout as usual.  Our cart gets updated accordingly after selecting the option.

                            • Is Sumiyaki Coffee good for Espresso? 

                              Yes. The smokiness of the aroma is extracted well with espresso brewing.  Please see below what Above Average Coffee mention about our coffee for Espresso.   Mandheling Berkat Lintong and European Premium Milkd Signature Blend are popular choice for Espresso hearing from cafes using our coffee, though all of the bean can be used for Espresso.

                              • Is It Vegan?

                                Yes. All our products are 100% Vegan and 100% natural. No artificial flavors are added. 

                              • Is it Made in Japan?

                                Our coffee is roasted in Japan. The coffee bean comes from selected farms from a different regions.  Each of the products has a description of where the coffee is coming from.

                              • Is it Gluten Free? 

                                Yes. All our products are Gluten free.

                              • Is it GMO Free? 

                                Yes. All our products are GMO free and cruelty-free.

                              • What is varietal of your coffee? 

                                Each coffee specifies specific varietal of the coffee.

                                  • Do you have any decaffeinated or low caffeine coffee?

                                    Yes.  Our decaffeinated coffee are one of the best you can find in the industry.  Click here to access the product.

                                    • What about Expiration Date?

                                      We ship all our freshly roasted coffee from Japan right after roast. Most of our products have an expiration date of 1 year from roasting, so you will have enough time to enjoy your coffee! The date of expiration is printed on each package.

                                    • How long is the coffee good once opened?

                                      The coffee is good for one year from roasting even after you open the package.  However, we strongly encourage you to seal the coffee in an air-tight container, such as multiple zip lock bags, and store it in a dark, cool place or refrigerator for retaining good taste.  We also recommendAirscape which is popular among coffee drinkers and works very well.  Here is a link to get Airscape products from Amazon.

                                    • What is the best way to store coffee?

                                      We suggest coffee be refrigerated but not frozen. If you decide to refrigerate, please make sure that you isolate the coffee from other food by either putting in an air-tight canister or using multiple layers of zip lock bags.  We also recommend Airscape which is popular among coffee drinkers and works very well with coffee as well.                                     • What is the best water to use for Coffee?

                                      Coffee is best prepared with filter water with a moderate amount of minerals. If you have a water filter system, it is the best. If you use bottled water, try avoiding ones with "Added Minerals" as they tend to break the coffee flavor, you do not want distilled water either since some minerals are suitable to bond with the coffee molecule. 

                                      • I am worried about radioactive materials in products made in Japan. 

                                        Our coffee is 100% safe from radioactive materials. Coffee beans are imported responsibly from outside Japan, and we freshly roast each batch of coffee.
